Business Systems Assistant

The Business Systems Department is devoted to aligning technology systems and maintaining a complete view of the Museum's constituents. Through the donor database The Raiser's Edge, among other programs, the Department keeps track of Museum data, monitors fundraising goals and provides analysis of trends and potential growth.  Business Systems works closely with other Museum departments and sets institutional standards for data collection, accessibility, and governance.

The Business Systems department is seeking an assistant to provide data entry and administrative support. Reporting to the Manager of Business Systems, the Business Systems Assistant will process gifts via import tools and batch entry, and will play an integrated role in the overall maintenance of the Raiser’s Edge database and other systems.

Responsibilities 

  • Daily processing of credit card, checks and online payments for membership, donations and event ticketing transactions
  • Main contact for lockbox vendor for gifts received via mail, including importing gifts, reconciling gift totals, and updating processes as needed
  • Assist with daily and weekly closing of gifts and acknowledgements
  • Data cleanup projects as required
  • Testing and documentation of processes
  • Responsible for department-related administrative tasks
  • Maintain database integrity through the use of queries, exports, imports (via Raiser’s Edge import and ImportOmatic), and reporting

Requirements

  • B.A. / B.S.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Excel a must, and Raiser’s Edge a plus)
  • Creative problem-solver, can work both independently and cooperatively
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize, and multi-task
  • Ability to adjust to shifting priorities & willingness to learn new programs and processes
