Business Systems Project Manager, Part-time Temporary

The Project Manager will be responsible for the implementation of a new Human Resources Information System.  This project-based position will focus on managing all component work streams in support of the Museum’s Human Resources strategy, goals, and objectives.  The expected duration of the assignment is part-time and approximately 6 or more months.  The system will include the core modules of Human Resources, Payroll and Time and Labor as well as other enhanced features.  Reporting to the Director of Business Systems, the Project Manager will work closely with the Whitney’s HR team, the software vendor, as well as other internal stakeholders to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the solutions deployed on-time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, define and execute on project plans, objectives, schedules, and deliverables
  • Manage clear expectations and ensure the project stays on scope, in budget, and on time
  • Coordination of Whitney stakeholders and third party vendor(s)
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Prepare module guides, manuals and other materials
  • Delegate and manage tasks for internal and external teams
  • Provide status updates, insights, conclusions, escalations and error resolution
  • Develop and execute QA/testing plan
  • Coordinate manager and employee training sessions

Requirements

  • Three to five years of relevant project management experience
  • 5 or more years of experience in Human Resources/HRIS related functions or projects
  • Experience with HRIS systems; Kronos a plus
  • Project Management Professional Certification a plus
  • Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to perform and document analysis of complex business, workflow, and technology issues to support decision-making
  • Proven ability to successfully manage conflict, proven team leadership and meeting facilitation skills
  • Risk mitigation, resolve client issues and manage client/vendor expectations
