The Communications Assistant will work closely with the Senior Communications Manager and the Communications Associate and serve as integral member of the Communications team, providing crucial administrative support and supporting press efforts around special exhibitions, education programs, and institutional initiatives. Key duties include servicing media, assisting with film and photography shoots, helping to manage the press database, providing support at press previews and other press events, tracking media coverage, and additional duties as assigned.
This is a part-time, temporary position for 20 hours per week from August 2019 through February 2020. Additional hours may be required during exhibition openings and other key moments.

Requirements: B.A. (arts, marketing or communications degree preferred); at least one to two years of experience working in arts or non-profit communications; excellent oral and written communication skills; knowledge of or interest in contemporary American art; ability to work independently and handle challenging situations; MS Office essential and Raiser’s Edge familiarity a plus.
